Hello! I'm Scot, and if you're reading this, you're likely in the exciting process of purchasing a home. Congratulations! I understand that this journey can be both thrilling and a bit nerve-wracking, but take a moment to breathe—you have time.
If you're interested, I have a qualifications page where I outline the schools and classes I've attended to become a certified home inspector. However, the real education came from my hands-on experience. I purchased my first home in 1994, and over the years, I've bought, renovated, and sold numerous properties. This practical experience taught me how to thoroughly inspect homes and identify potential issues. It was truly the school of hard knocks, where I learned to discern whether a crack or stain was merely cosmetic or a sign of a costly problem. Early on, I did face some expensive lessons, but with time, I honed my skills in spotting the subtle clues that can save you money.
While I still buy and sell homes occasionally, I find great fulfillment in meeting home buyers and sharing my knowledge with them. It would be an honor to inspect your home, and I assure you that I never view it as just another property.
